Lunched brake bleed screw thread

I agree that some thread inserts are better than others. Personally I prefer to use Helicoils. ReCoils are certainly not as good, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that they are not suitable for use on a brake caliper. I have used them in the past, as I have V-Coils as well, and whilst they are not as tight fitting as Helicoils, they did the job. Come to think of it I had to use V-Coils on my mates caliper, as Helicoil do not make a 10mm x 1mm insert. I don't anticipate them giving any problems. If I had I wouldn't have given him the caliper back until.I'd remove the inserts, so it couldn't be used. Mike.
