When? They were utterly devalued by being given away with cornflakes back in NT4 days, and haven't improved.
And about as useful in the real world as a Grade A A-level in General Studies. I know this. I've got a Grade A A-level in General Studies.

The last time I had to get one replaced, it cost me 15quid, plus an additional fiver to the scrappy to fit it for me because I CBA to do it myself. How much of an excess do most FC policies have on windscreen cover these days?
C
Clive George
Hasn't happened yet. FWIW mine would cost about 110 quid at most, so that's
60 quid difference. That means the difference between FC and TPFT would have to be less than 5 quid a year to be worth the extra. And it doesn't, so I win by not going FC.
That's what I mean by the strategy paying off for me. I'll keep the savings I've made, thanks.

If or when that happens, you may rest assured that your renewal premium will reflect it, no matter what they say about no claims discount being unaffected.

However few there are, they should be named and shamed.

£50. With most being bonded, DIY is getting less of an option every year.
C
Conor
If you say so. Never has with me.

It'll be a long list. Most of them are doing it.

How can you possibly know what your renewal premium might have been without the windscreen claim?
A
Art Deco
I'd still be interested in knowing which ones they are.

So you are telling me that not only are the brakes on your car so dangerous that they cannot stop it quicker than a lorry but that you are also blind and cannot see a 8ftx14ftx53ft vehicle as well as being so incredibly stupid that you cannot work out a possible scenario from what you see around you.
No wonder you think you'll have an accident.
Ohg yeah, you're retired. Your generation didn't do house buying.
Haha...a Southern Pansy. Not only that, a sponging one too. Are you one of Dougs sock puppets?
What job did you do that decided it didn't need you anymore then?
Firstly, there's no such thing as a slow lane on a motorway so I think we've established how s*it a driver you are. Secondly, why the f*ck are you crawling along at 57MPH on a motorway in a car for? If you want to dawdle along, f*ck off onto A roads so people who actually want to get somewhere without "George McGyver, Sunday Driver" holding them up, can.
Perhaps you should get your defective speedo fixed.

Because I've had two over the past few years.

And your renewal premiums would have been how much without them?

It's simple. Use an online enquiry form.
Do your base quote. Add your claims one at a time. Make notes. Add any=20 convictions one at a time. Make notes. Compare notes when you're done,=20 to see what changes have been triggered.
I found that (a few years ago) windscreen/glass claims don't make *any*=20 difference for most insurers, with the exception of Direct Line (at the=20 time), who added about =A310 per glass claim.
Similarly, only Direct line loaded the premium for an SP30, everyone=20 else didn't make any difference.
I've found this year that even after having had an "at fault" claim last=20 year, my main insurance didn't go up dramatically (only =A330 or so), but= =20 this was beaten by Direct Line, who were quoting >=A3100 less, even with=20 the claim.
Pete.

That certainly seems a scientific way of doing it, if a little time-consuming.
That would be a basic speeding offence?
I got a really low renewal quote from my last insurer. Privilege matched it and knocked another £1.50 off.
£145 for TPFT with legal cover in Central London? Is that a record?

Was it a dark green MX-5?

A blokey came round here the other day to collect a Yucca I'd put on FreeCycle - in a Mk1 Fester. An early one, not even with the Mk2-style tailgate...
In grey primer.
Oops, no, it was silver. Once.

No. It is black. Was there a point here I have missed?
