Misted Headlight.

Took a bulb out last night to check if it had gone (it hadn't, the bulb holder had burned out!!).

I fixed it all today but now the inside of the lens is a bit misted up. What is the best way of clearing it. I am thinking of removing the bulb and using a hair drier. If so, do I refit the bulb whilst it is all warm - or let it cool down first?

(It has been a damp day)

The hairdryer is the time-honoured method of temporarily dealing with this problem - go for it but careful with the hairdryer and any rain/water!

I had this problem with my Ka - still comes back now and then after washing the car - seals probably arent perfect.

I wedged a hairdrier under the bonnet pointin towards the headlight with the rear case off plugged into the house, came inside, had lunch, went back out and it was fixed :) This was in the summer though so no chance of rain gettin to electrics.

After a session with the hairdryer I decided to remove the unit - glad I did - there was about table-spoons of water inside.

Baked it low temp in the oven and applied mastic to joint between lens and shell.

Glad I didnt have to take mine out, you have to take the arch liner and bumper to bits on the Ka to get it out IIRC!
