Exhaust is blocked (cat or backbox) or fuel filter is plugged, or fuel pump is about to die.

Cost =A3258 fitted by local garage. That's two silencers and cat plus a few brackets etc. Also a fault code check which showed no errors. Most of cost was parts. Labour was =A325 plus vat.
Often because the initial plug gap set by Ford was 1.3mm which overstressed the cables and coils. They later reduced it to 1.0mm which vastly reduced the problem but didn't cure it.
