Escort door adjustment

Aug 30, 2009 1 Replies

Hi have just replaced the front drivers door on a P reg escort (96). Doesn't quite shut as easily as the other 3 doors and there is a slightly larger gap between the door and wing compared to the passenger door & wing. Is there a way of adjusting the door to fit (you have to slam it to shut it!) in the door seems to be two nuts that could be used as an adjustment? Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance

conti formulated the question :

The old way with poor tolerances was to make everything so it could be adjusted to fit. The modern way, where not much adjustment might be needed, it to bend things very slightly until they fit.

Wooden wedges work well, combined with a few scraps of wood to protect surfaces and small levers.
