Mondeo wipers

operate the wipers and switch off the ign so the wipers are up the screen, put a piece of tape parallel to the wiper so you have a reference to reset the new position, with the nut loose, but not off, raise the wiper arm and gently rock sideways till the taper releases, you can then reposition as needed.

They very often will remove the arms to give get a screen in.

It is pretty simple! The arms are just stuck on the taper of the wiper spindle, take the nut off, then tap the bottom on the wiper arm (by the spindle) with a small hammer, to shake it loose from the taper, while applying a little upward pressure on the arm.. Don't hit it hard, lots of rapid, light strikes will free it. Make sure you don't hit the thread, or you will never get the nut back on!

I've tried wiggling the arm about etc and a bit of tapping it seems stuck on pretty well.

Guess I'll give it another go with frequent light taps as you suggest.

Machine mart sell a special puller tool to remove wiper arms if you are interested, it's very cheap, only a few quid.

Yeah, I spotted that later last night after giving up - a battery terminal puller - just the trick.

But it was easier to give up my lunch hour and go back to the Ford dealer - only took them a couple of minutes. Rather violent wiggling of the arm - much harsher than I dared.

So there you have it, I failed a one spanner Haines manual job.
