Nissan Micra engine cut out

Jan 17, 2008 6 Replies

Hi,

Driving along motorway and engine cuts out. Pull over, call AA who spray something into the hole where the air filter is and says its due to fuel starvation.

Now what would cause this and what did he spray into the engine to get it going again? do i need a new fuel filter, not sure really where the process of elimination starts with this kind of problem.

many thanks,

Had a cutting out problem a few weeks ago. See thread "Micra K11 Stalling"

Turned out to be the connector to the water temperature sensor making poor contact. Changed the connector and it has been fine since.

Many thanks bill, will put that on the list of things to check

He would have sprayed carburettor cleaner in through the air filter hole.

Steve

Cheers, will have to get some of that. Is "holts cold start" the same sort of thing?

thanks

it will do much the same as it is flammable
