Four digit code. We got ours from Renault UK at Acton. They produce it from computer if you have V5. Very useful when baby lost key for a few days. I do not believe there is any other synchronisation

The Renault place in Birkenhead denied any existence of such a method of disabling the immobiliser when my key packed up a couple of years back. The second key was unavailable at the time so ended up waiting a week for a new key and paying the thick end of £100 for key plus programming. Ouch!
