Erm, well..... they were taking him by helicopter, so the hospital at Leeds was quite possibly a very negligible extra distance away, plus it may be the only one around that has a helipad.

IIRC correctly it is. And all the major hospitals in Leeds are teaching hospitals as well.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember "Mike G" saying something like:

I certainly don't wish him any harm and would hope he recovers sufficiently to lead a fairly normal life, same as anyone else in that situation. But, as I said, I've never met him, don't know him and his accident doesn't mean that much to me.
