You did what?

He drove it without oil?. How long did he have it for?.

on mine it has adjustable valves so what i did was tighten them down using feeler gagues put them to the correct spacing as in the manual

Ah, right, you set the valve clearances.

Why was your friend driving it without any oil in? If there was no oil in how did you manage to drain oil out of it? Why should green oil mean that the big and little ends need to be examined? What does "stays it revs is held" mean?

Chances are if the car has been started and run for even a few seconds with no oil in then you will need a replacement engine.

Naw.......ye jus didnt tighten tha owl valves enof..... get a monkey wrench at it...that way the wrench and the driver has the same name.

He drove it without oil? How come the engine had NO OIL in it?

Did you drain the oil before or after you lent the car to your friend? If afterwards, how come there was oil to drain?

By the sound of the green oil, I'd say he took it to a National tyres and have them stick some Duckham's in.

there was oil in it as as when i heard the noise it was making i told him had he checked the oil recently and he said no. when i checked there was no oil on the dip stick.

he then filled it and checked the oil everyday

The message from "Nic" contains these words:

Did the oil pressure warning light come on? If not then it's most unlikely that he did any damage.
