There is a knocking sound coming from the rear offside wheel, when the vehicle turns sharply or drives over bumpy ground. Is this a problem with the suspension?

No, they all make this noise.

i had a megane in friday with a similiar noise & it turned out to be a broken rear shock absorber, worth a check.
