Hi Folks, Anyone out there got experience with the Auto box in the "New Shape Scenic"? Good or Bad?
Also do you know the interval for an oil change in the Focus Auto G/B. There is no drain plug in the G/B sump and local dealer says oil change not scheduled. Surely it is not sealed for life? All help appreciated.
Many (if not most) gearboxes are now designed so that routine oil changes are neither specified nor required. Ford and others have removed the gearbox drain plug from their more recent auto and manual boxes, although in practice you would almost certainly change the oil at some point - any work on the driveshafts, or the clutch (on manuals obviously) would involve pulling the driveshaft from the gearbox, and any sensible person would refill the box with fresh oil after this work.
