Prise off the trim strip which the clock is mounted in - start from the far left side near the passenger door and use a wide flat bladed screwdriver with a piece of thick cardboard or cloth to protect the dash.

The message from "Richard Ng" contains these words:
If it's the unit I think it is - prise clock out - replace bulb, pop unit back in.
Replace driver.
...and can anyone tell me how to replace the bulb in the clock of a 1997 (smiley-front) Transit, please? Surely I don't have to remove the entire dash?
Don't think so, the clock doesn't prise out easily. That's why I've used the clock on my radio display ever since I've had my 218. I'll try Darren's suggestion later though!
