OK, I'm going to refrain from offering my opinions on this thread, as cars are a personal choice and people tend to take criticism of their car personally, and I'd hate to offend the people on here whom I depend upon for advice! So I shall merely say that I think Rovers are good cars, and easily better (and less expensive to fix) than a lot of the so-called 'quality' foreign tat which I've owned.
Anyway, in the hope of helping the OP with his original question, and dragging this thread back from becoming a slanging match...:
You might want to try a specialist Rover breakers - someone like Viking will probably be able to do you an engine
