Has anyone got any idea of the clobber required to do this? I notice there are plenty of cheap shot blasting guns about, and I've already got a decent mask and compressor, so that part of things is covered. Having never done it, is a huge amount of protective clothing required to do it or can it be done with normal overalls and boots? Would be *very* handy for some of the bits and bobs I've got to do if I could DIY it for a reasonable sum.

Normal overalls and boots if you're doing it in a ventilated place. Could always get a couple of those paper coveralls that sprayers wear.
& beware of the mess, the grit gets everywhere, if you can find one of the ones with the vacuum/shot blast gun you'll have a much more productive life.
I've got one, but would prefer to be able to do larger items as well as isolated bits of rust - in particular, old tractors. I think I may be there a while with the spot blaster...
If you've got the space for old tractors then the mess may well be less of an issue, you need long gloves & a noddy suit that covers everything as it will get down your neck if it can & then it will give you a rash. Graity fed pot's the cheap way to go & works lovely.
