Trying to get door mirrors off a donor Sierra (1990 LX) I'm getting a few bits off before I scrap it. Working inside, I've removed the plastic nut around the adjustment knob, but can't get the triangle shape plastic cover off. Do I have to destroy it with brute force to get access to the screws underneath to get mirror off?
A heads up on this very much appreciated.

It is just clipped on, there are spring plastic pins into holes in the door (IIRC) So just prise it outward from the front edge of the door and it unhooks at the back (to the best of my memory)
Cheers for that. Came off just as you said after lots of levering and pulling. Didn't help that couldn't open door fully as in garage. Broke one clip, but now I know where they are for levering the plate off on the good car.
