Smelly car

The only real solution is to see a Vet or Doctor and get some antibiotic capsules. Open these up and sprinkle the powder over the affected area. This will kill the bacteria which causes the smells. I had a similar experience with a BMW 735 a few years back where milk got spilled into the vents on top of the dash and ran into the aircon system. That *stank*. Nothing worked. Fevreeze, air fresheners, bleach.. Nope . No use at all. Only the antibiotics worked.

The trouble is its got into the internals (springs etc) which powder probably wont reach.

Search online breakers or eBay for a replacement seat.

You won't get rid of the smell of mouldy milk, ever.

Try Simple Solution Stain and Odour remover from Pets at Home (or other pet shop).

Prior to this, we had tried white venigar and baking soda. They helped a little, but the smell would return.

Based on my experience, I would go for the simple solution. Put loads on and wait a few days.

An aquantance of mine did. He removed a cloth upholstered seat and cleaned it with a steam cleaner. Hot and high pressure with detergent at first, followed by a thorough high pressure rinsing using plenty of water. Seat took a long time to dry, but the smell had gone, and the seat wasn't damaged. Take the seats out of the car, take the covers off and wash them, and wash the foam in the bath?

You lot are all wrong, I'm a professional car valeter and the only real way to remove odours is to use an Ozone Gas Generator. Ozone gas destroys the bacteria that cause the smell.If you were to make the seat or carpets wet they would reek of what ever you spilt on them maybe worse than before. Ozone gas penetrates all the fibers and gets in every nook and cranny. If the smell is real bad and ozone hasn't fixed the problem then the last resort is to use a Fogger machine to fill the car wioth a mist of chemicals that do the same thing as ozone but in a more powerful way, that will leave the car smelling of cleaning chemicals. Failing that just stick a match in the petrol tank and claim on the insurance ha ha.
