So you use the kph numbers *that you can see*! The point the OP was making was that the kph numbers can't be seen on a Focus speedo. That's not the same as what you are doing at all.

I'd assume that you are doing this on a reasonably frequent basis - again not comparable.

I could count up the value of the coins in my pocket without being able to see them in the UK because I'm familiar with the size and shape. In Europe I would have to get them out and look at the value of each of the coins. I would struggle to do it if the numbers on the coins were not visible!

I actually tend to not convert currency when I'm abroad; I look at the price of something, then pay that amount without thinking what it may be equal to in sterling.

But, yes, I am doing it reasonably frequently. I still don't really see how that makes a difference, though. It's hardly rocket science. Even SWMBO manages, and she's *terrible* at mental arithmetic.
