Spurios Car Alarm

Oct 15, 2006 3 Replies

I've just bought a 10yr old VW Polo and it has an alarm fitted.

The alarm was not working, traced problem to fuse and rectified.

Now the curious problem:

When I set the alarm it's fine until 9am exactly when it starts alarming.

We have no timers around the house at this time and I've never heard of a timed car alarm so I'm stumped.

Also I can't find a makers name on it.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Can you park it at a friends / relatives house overnight some distance away and see if it still does it? Sounds to me like there's maybe a factory or something close by that emits a signal for some reason at 9am. It's certainly a very odd one though!

The only thing I can think of that might set the alarm off at a particular time, apart from an external trigger, is if there is an alarm setting within the car's clock or radio. Seems unlikely but stranger things etc....

Si

I'll try anything

Thanks for the replies
