started my engine while oil was draining now car doesn't start!

I don't believe he did it. Particularly the bit about it siezing within a few seconds. I'm sure an engine which was 'wet' before the oil was drained would run for a couple of minutes (not under load) before it died.

I had an oil cooler go on a bike and rode it for about 10 minutes after I'd seen I had a leak. It had lost about 3l out of 3.3l and there was no long term damage- or at least not damage I noticed in a further 2 or

3 thousand miles of use.
