timing knock

Hi, sisters car broke down months ago - she left in on the drive. Today I had a look at it, got it running by holding key over, warmed it up abit ticking over about 4/500 revs - when I tried to throttle it, there is a timing knock and the engine cuts out. (R- Reg 1997 1200cc)

anyone got an idea of where to look - she supposely had it on a diagnostic machine and can't remeber what the guy said - though he did mention the key was faulty which I can't get my head round

plug leads in the wrong order

Yeah good thinking - she did have a guy (her fella) he told me today he had changed the plugs and leads. They are certain lengths, to fit cleanly suppose he may have pulled them all off and then just fitted them without thinking. They do appear to be fitted in the right order eye view though. Does anybody know the firing order - plus are the distributers easy to get off and do they still have rotor arms? if so what is the rotation?

A R-Reg 1997. 1.2L silly. Quite what 1997 1.2L car it is is another question....

I guess it is a corsa and that is 1342 and 1 is the back top lead from the distributor, which is easy to remove and turns anti clockwise.

I'm surprised that you have managed to get to this site. No doubt you are conversant with baseball caps and ignorant about being polite.

Although they don't seem to have mistaken this for a site...
