Had to remove steering column off my Hawke kit car, for bearing replacement the other day, the steering rack was not touched. Bled brakes whilst at it all, so removed front wheels, turned lower column (still attached to rack box) to move wheels to access bleed nipples, and completed the job. However, my wheels now seem to have adopted a serious case of toe-out, and no matter how I position them by turning lower steering shaft they toe out like crazy. How come they have done this?? I have not touched the rack or steering box at all, just uncoupled the top shaft as stated.I can't figure how they seem to have moved independantly of each other? To fix, I presume I will have to recouple everything back, and adjust the track rod ends as per normal tracking adjustment?? Puzzled....but then I often am !! -:)
