Hi, wondered if anyone could help!! I have a petrol 1.8 ecotec vectra that makes the stangest tinny type noise only when warmed up and only when above 50mph, bit puzzled by this. Water temp is fine and engine goes fine, but obviously something is wrong!! Any ideas?

Check for loose heat shields. Not sure about this particular Ecotec, but some X16XE's have a heat shield welded onto the downpipe. These welds are only small and can break with time, causing the shield to become loose.
