Whilst I'm wating for my car to go into the garage, does anyone have any experience with the Webasto engine heaters as fitted to the diesel Citroen Synergie, Peugeot 806, Ford Galaxy etc.?
I've just noticed that mine has stopped functioning. No whiring, no smells, no heat. I appreciate that it could be a whole heap of things but I wondered if there were any common faults I could check out myself.

The ones I've seen in trucks have a re-set switch on the side.
Have you checked the fuses?? There are normally 2, a 20 amp and a 5 amp, they are situated next to the relay for the fan.

Checked all my fuses yesterday. Then found that the coded radio had stopped working. ;-)
Spent 1/2 an hour searching for the code before I remembered that the garage had helpfully written it on the radio..
More in hope than expectation, I unplugged all the wires and plugged them back in again (from the heater unit). Et voila! A working heater unit again.

If they're based on the HGV ones, you need to run them at least once a month otherwise they pack up.
