Hi. Just spotted a crack that seems to start at the edge of the windscreen and extends about 4". Will a repair kit do the job or is replacement the only adequate solution?

Repair seems pretty unlikely for a number of reasons:

probably best take it to windscreen place and let them advise. Today would be good as these cracks can run

Chips they can fix, cracks are much less likely to be repairable.
