I'm looking at buying a used protege5 in the next couple of months and was wondering if anyone here has experience with them and their overall thoughts on their experience with owning one.

I believe 03 was the last model year for them.
My wife has an 02 5-speed. Good car. I think she had a speaker replaced under warranty, but otherwise no problems in 50,000-ish miles. Decent gas mileage. It's not a Miata but but there is good balance between ride and handling. It's surprisingly tossable for its class.
We bought a 10 cu. ft. freezer a while ago and to our amazement it fit in the back with no problem. Seats down, of course.
