Do stock wheels from 2000 Miata fit 1991?

A friend of mine at work put custom wheels on his 2000 Miata and is willing to sell me his stock 15 inch wheels cheap (like give them to me). I need new tires for my stock 14 inch rims and am thinking I might as well give them a try since the tires on them have a lot of miles left on them. Will they fit my 1991 Miata? According to Tirerack, both the 1991 and 200 have the same 4-100 bolt pattern. Also, should I expect any change in handling switching from 14 to 15 inch wheels or is the difference in tires more important?

Thanks,

Gus (91 BRG)

They'll fit, no problem. There won't be a big difference in handling. The 15 inch wheels weigh just over 13 pounds each, about 1 pound more than the alloys that were offered for your vehicle. Your main difference is appearance and tire selection. FWIW, the 15 inch alloy OEM wheels usually get $100.00+ each in good condition, so it is a generous gift.

Depending on which tyres you use you should notice better turn in with the

15" rims. There is also more room for larger rotors too! I used the MPCA kit but the 94+ fronts rotors and brakets will work.. Robert
