Help: need 2 '01 miata wheels

May 31, 2007 5 Replies

A pothole ate two new tires and both wheels on the drivers side about

3 weeks ago. These are the 5 slanted spoke metalic silver wheels. Had the wheels at a repair shop but after about 3 days the said they were core bent and couldn't be repaired. Hit the pothole doing about 45 mph. It was about 4 inches deep and had a nice sharp edge on the back side, no slope at all.

Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of these wheels on the used market. None of the local import salvage yards have them.

So far my choices seem to be buy new or spend the same money on a set of 4 custom wheels. Then make some money (maybe) selling my 2 good oem wheels. Or continue the hunt.. Anyone have some stock wheels laying around???

Have you checked with planetmiata to see if they have any in stock? They list 15 inch miata wheels at $75.00 each. Not sure what they charge for shipping.

There is also a set of four 2001 miata wheels on the miata.net classifieds for $375.00 before shipping from California, probably not much more than what the Mazda dealership charges per wheel....

The ad has been up there a while, so the seller might be negotiable if they haven't sold.

Good luck!

If your looking for the 14 inch I have a set of 4 sitting in my garage waiting for a good home. They are from a '99, but I believe the style is the same as '01.
