Bonnet Stuck

Apr 08, 2005 2 Replies

Whilst attempting to open the bonnet of my E Class TD (1999), the plastic operating catch situated beneath the steering wheel snapped. On further examination the cable is visible (and accessible) but it can't be budged, presumably because the bonnet catch is broken/stuck.

Does anyone know of a way to open the bonnet without doing considerable damage to the vehicle?

TIA

Ow!

Have someone else push down on the bonnet to take some of the strain off the mechanism while you pull on the remains of the catch with a pair of pliers or something.

get some one to push down on the hood as you pull the cable

the case, minus a few cans!
