TDC for #1 cylinder. That's when #1 piston is at the very top of its stroke.
Look at the timing mark on the engine's harmonic balancer (behind the belts) for 00 degrees and / or you can remove the valve cover and turn the engine to 00 degrees and watch that both #1 valves are closed - if not turn engine one revolution. 00 degrees AND both #1 valves closed is TDC for #1 - any engine.
Make sure that you turn the engine only in the direction that it normally runs. Easiest way is a socket (27 mm, IIRC)and the right length extension on a long ratchet.
