New CDI

I got my new e320 cdi and it is GREAT!

I need to sell my '95 e 300 d, any suggestions on how to sell it?

I can't say anything about the mileage, I've only gone 60 miles and yes it much faster than my '95 diesel, they claim it can run with the e 500, an I think that it is pretty close to being true

Were you able to get any reduction in the list price?

1500 off, and that was like pulling teeth, I'm sure in a few months they'll be knocking 2-3 k off the price, but they are planning on importing only 3k cars and if the word gets out how good the car performs, watch out it could command a premium.

Where abouts are you located?

Please take pictures under the hood, and videos of the new hot thing on the block. What I wouldn't give for one of those beauties...

I think I'm going to move to New Jersey. This $2.49/gal gas shindig is getting insane.

Is this going ot be a one-year offer or is the CDI in the states (minus Kalifornia) for good?

it is certainly as fast as the gasoline and even better torque for towing.

30mpg average Town/Country driving. 37-40mpg on a long Motorway drip with a light foot for the E320CDI Estate

the car isn't sold in CA, ME, NY, VT or MA. In 2007 the whole of the US puts CA rules into effect so unless they do something, they won't be able to sell it here

Just an FYI for any Mainers on here - while it is true that you cannot BUY a new diesel passenger car in the State of Maine now, unlike the other states there is nothing to prevent you from buying one elsewhere and registering it in the state at this point. My roommate is a City Clerk, registering cars and collecting taxes is what she does for a living! :-)

that may be true, but I'd get a better answer before I'd buy one if I lived there

I'm not sure where I read it but as I recall they said the performance was about the same as an E320. The E500 runs the quarter in about 14 seconds which is a pretty quick clip considering that Vettes in the 60's were about that fast. Do you know where they have road tested the CDI? If a 3 liter Diesel runs a 14 sec 1/4 we're probably all going to be driving one in a few years. Can you imagine what a 5 liter 8 cyl would do. Rob

Apparently the 4L V8 diesel from the S400/E400 CDI is pretty damn miraculous as well.... nothing quite like a diesel V8.

My e320 cdi does 0-60 in about 7+ seconds, that isn't too shabby
