Opinion - what is a 1981 380SLC with broken chain worth?
A very nice 1981 380SLC, 100K miles, broken timing chain. Not running of course. Would the engine repair be more than the car is worth? Is it worth any more than just for parts? How much?

It's worth fixing if the car is in good condition. Rebuilt cylinder heads can be put on it add new dual chains and you can drive it another
100K miles with no chain issues.see
$2500 is what your repair bill might be... and it can be higher. So the question on how much the car is worth? It is up to you.
