Midget Clutch Spin

Sep 22, 2004 1 Replies

My 1500 Midget has slowly developed a clutch spin problem. The gears can still be engaged but are distinctly 'clunky' when shifting down and there is quite a lot of judder when engaging first when stationary. Can anyone out there advise whether this is likely to be a hydraulic problem - that can presumably be rectified by bleeding the system. Or whether it is likely to be a symptom of something more serious that may involve clutch replacement! Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks Nigel

Even if its hydraulics, bleeding alone is unlikely to be the answer. If such a fault has developed over time it is likely you'll need to fit a repair kit to both master and slave cylinders.
