The front pipe on our open classic needs either repair or replacement. The exhaust is the original (or similar , not modified).
The front pipe has a small copper or brass pipe coming off it and going towards the drivers side but i cant really see where it goes.
The car does have a CAT although it doesn't actually do anything, the guy who MOTs it told me Rover jumped on the bandwagon to fit a CAT but without an injection and engine management system all it does is reduce the power.
I cant find mention of a replacement front pipe at any of the mini specialists online, they all just seem to sell performance exhausts. I have priced the part up locally, one shop (noted for crap parts) wants £18, Kwikfit say it is a "special" part and want £120 to supply and fit!.
The car is astandard open classic with 1275 engine with carburettor.
Any advice appreciated
