Tigra exhaust

My wife bought a Vauxhall Tigra several months ago. The centre silencer box has now started to blow so I have purchased a replacement. The new part is designed to clamp onto another pipe at the front end whilst the part that is on the car runs straight into the catalytic converter with no join. I've checked with a couple of local suppliers and also checked online. All the replacement exhausts seem to have a join between the CAT and the centre section of the exhaust.

I should be able to cut the existing pipe between the CAT and centre box and adapt it to fit the new part. I am curious though whether anyone else has come across this problem and how they got round it.

Thanks in advance,

Joe
