2000 eclipse headlight dimming

the right headlamp is getting dimmer and dimmer, but it does not seem to be the bulb ,because the new bulb is dim too, any ideas? Tia ps, the other side is ok

Sounds like a ground problem or a burning (ie resistive) connection somewhere. Check with a meter which pin is the ground, or not +12 Hi or +12 Lo, then run a temporary ground wire to see if that helps. You may have a relay that switches ground as well as relays for Hi and lo beam.

Check that you are getting +12 on the Hi / Lo pins. See if running a wire from the battery helps.

Be aware that you may have a partial short somewhere, so be careful. Look for burned or heat damaged connectors in the headlight circuit eg on the headlight relay(s)

Right headlight, ground wire is black, low beam is Red / blue tracer, high beam is yellow /red tracer, fuse 18 is for low beam and 16 is high beam. For referance, left headlight, ground is black, low beam is white / red tracer, and high beam is light green (no tracer). Headlight relays should be interchangeable
