2000 Galant - spark plug replacment at same time as timing belt - labor question

2000 Galant ES V6, 2.0L SOHC 24V (6G72 engine?)

This model has three spark plugs that are easily accessible, whereas the remaining three can be accessed only after removing the upper intake manifold.

Apparently the 60,000 mile service from the dealer last year didn't include replacing the spark plugs, and now at 75,000mi I'm noticing driveability problems (hesitation, poor acceleration).

Since I'm about to get the timing belt & probably the water pump replaced, I asked the shop what they would charge to replace the spark plugs at the same time and I got a quote of $220 additional for the spark plugs. I was quite taken aback by that since I figured the labor should be much reduced due to the fact that he was already going to be doing the timing belt work. He said it involved a different parts of the engine...what do you think? I'm guessing at least 1 hr of labor should be knocked off the price. Ofcourse I'll be calling around to get competitive estimates.

Thanks.
