3rd gen (NM/NP) Montero/Pajero exhaust issues

i'm afraid i've got the cracked exhaust manifold that seems somewhat common with these vehicles. anyone know of an aftermarket header for the 3.5l gasoline motor (that is available in the US)?

thanks,

dookie

Aside from just getting a new one (after all how long did the original last?) , you could also consider having it welded up. Since this is cast iron, it can't be arc welded or simply oxy'd up. The whole thing is heated up and then welded. A lot depends on how much carbon is on the inside of the manifold.

Ask around welding / machine shops in your Yellow Pages. You may need to have the flange ground flat at a machine shop. New may be cheaper.

i'm not talking about an OEM replacement manifold...you're right, that would just crack again. 'new may be cheaper', which is why i'm asking about an aftermarket header. got any info about the question that was asked originally?

thx,
