86 L300 1.6 petrol using a lot of fuel

any body tell me what sort of MPG i should be getting out of 1986 L300 1.6 petrol van, i am only getting about 20 at the moment please help

I used to get 35 to 39 miles per gallon over here in Australia, when did you service it last ?? plugs, points and such need to be set correctly to achieve near as maximum milage as possible. SPend a few dollars to go much further.
