95 Eclipse feels like driving on ice

I have a 95 Eclipse that when it is wet, it feels like the car is driving on ice (not a lot of control). It is not the tires because those are brand new. Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be?

Thank you

I'm assuming this isn't a GSX? That would really be a concern with AWD.

What kind of tires and what are the ambient temps? Some tires are only designed for warm weather and dry conditions.

Yes, i agree with Nobody, here we call it aquaplaning, where a dry designed tyre gets too wet, you seem to slide like on ice, not a nice scene when driving with kids, it could also be your tyres are wearing irregular and you need a wheel alignment, if the edges are worn down so a dangerous depth this could also cause aquaplaning. It's very hard to buy tyres to suit every environment, a man woul dhave to drive home and change tyres with every change of weather. I would really be looking into a wheel alignment and better suited tyres. Hope this helps

Thank you for your replies. I am not sure about the ambient temps, they are BF goodrich tires and seeing as how I am in Texas, chances are pretty good that the guy that sold me the tires sold me ones that are for warm dry weather.
