I have (had?) a 1989 mitsubishi galant in excellent condition. The v6 engine is in great shape, only 82,000 miles, the ac has been converted, tires are less than a year old, body and interior in good condition...
Sadly, it was in a low speed front end collision with a pickup. It's front grill, hood, light assemblies, and whatever else are now not so happy. The fenders look like they might be okay, but it's hard for me to tell. It's not leaking and fluids, and seems to drive okay.
It's not cost effective for me to repair it, and it's too old for any junkyards to want it. The engine is in such great shape, I'd hate to scrap it. (which is what I expect the donate-to-charity folk will do)
