some little scrote has put oil into the expansion tank on my neighbours metro (114)
don't ask me how, they just have, the question is, if it can be flushed out how do I make sure it's ALL flushed out? dismantle the cooling system and drain it? I'm already covered in watery oily s*it from pulling the tank out :(
Washing up liquid and reverse flush with a hose until totally clear.

Why do you need all of it flushed out? I can't see it doing any harm if you get most of it out. Unless of course you want to sell it tomorrow.

yes, because the scrote opened the door, popped the bonnet, opened the expansion tank, poured the oil he had sitting in the boot into the expansino tank, and then offski'd the stuff that didn't fit into the expansion tank went all over the rest of the engine

Keep refilling with clean water with "bio" washing powder in, once it's up to temp, drain and refill *
Forte products are usually quite good. I've never actually used this one though.
a very good product , we use that, normally if its very bad it takes a couple of cans.
I think we had this one a few/several months ago. IIRC soap flakes were the medium of choice. I'd be inclined to drain the whole system down if it was me.

I think that's just a story concocted by his "neighbour" who toped up the wrong filler cap.
ive seen someone fill their engine up with oil to the oil filler neck as they thought that's how much should be in there & I hate to say it but it was a bloke !
there are witnesses to the incident though I'm sure that the old fella who owns the car would have said to me if he had done something as silly as that he came over all huffin' and a puffin' saying that the scrote had done something to his car, but and you, it was 6pm so he may have had some difficulty

Happened right next to me in Hounslow. Saw the driver pouring in a whole can of oil and went to suggest it wasn't a good idea. Got a mouthful of abuse and left 'em to their own devices.
Didn't see what actually happened but later saw the car trucked away.

Has the engine been run? If not, the oil will not have circulated and will float off if you fill the system with water. Cleaning up the car park will be another matter of course. :-))
