Dude, why would you respond to this person in a serious manner? I only responded to it for others who might be under the impression (falsely by a person with no science background at all, and by his own admission had to have all his teeth removed due to be in such poor shape) that ginseng has been shown conclusively to lower cortisol, when it has not. Don¹t feed the trolls.

first...

I believe that the person who owns the problem is one who must spend their own time doing there own reserach.

I simply repeated the position of the Wellness community on Siberian Ginseng (Russian Ginseng) ability to reduce Cortisol induced stress.

Having no background in the sciences I figured out how to research medline some 7 years ago. I know how to search for exact phrases, authors, and for journals in Medline. A person with a science background should have no problem. Ha, ... Hah, Ha!

I was researching a problem yesterday on the ability of deep breathing/ exhalation/ forced breathing to lower heart rates. I had better luck finding a relevant abstract searching Google than with Medline (since the Science people behind Medline don't have a clue as how to set up a good search engine). But, from that 1st abstract I turned up a half dozen more good abstracts on Medline.

You will still have to make your own conclusion, something that science people absolutely refuse to do. Doing so will make you a part of the Quacky Wellness Community. :)

Just thought that you might want to know. :)

The flag is interesting. Apparently Soviet Navy, but the emblem is unfamiliar. I managed to find it on the Russian Navy web site, but naturally, I can't read the caption.

Sorry, but the only kook here is John M. Williams. :)

Just my opinion, but I am right as usual.

I am making the art of trolling with the trolls and kooks of WEB land a science. Ha, ... Hah, Ha!

If you cannot enjoy the ride, why even bother?

No I don't think so. See above, quote.

The literature documenting the negative effects of shift work on your health is quite solid.

A recent example would be:

The problem with cortisol is that it takes a toll on your body if chronically elevated. Biochemist Ray Peat has written about anti-stressor substances that do not have this effect. You can do a google search for ray peat newsletter and you will find his web site, which features some free newsletters that address this point.

Serious problem would be if anyone actually followed your asinine advice. You look at what Om is taking, do a Google search so you can understand the big words, advice discontinuing a prescription med with absolutely no knowledge as to why he takes it or the dose or frequency, latch onto one possible side effect of said drug to imagine a reason for his fat loss plateau, then decide, with no evidence but your cartoon websites, that your imagined problem would be corrected with increased vitamin C, without knowing whether that is his problem, without knowing whether the Adderal is causing that one particular side effect, and with no evidence that Adderal in an ADD patients would even have that side effect or whether vitamin C would affect cortisol in a Adderal-taking ADD patient.

Ignorant and proud of it...

Despite the general opinions that you are a NetKook, you seem to have some good knowlege and advice on some items. While I don't entirely agree with everything you post, there is enough evidence that you are very experienced and well read about the use of natural therapies for me to appreciate your input.

There is a time and place for Allopathic treatments so I don't reject them out of hand, but the number of prescription drug related deaths in the US alone outnumbers the number of deaths due to highway accidents each year, and I don't trust the drug companies in general either!

A happy balance between the two must be met, and care must be taken on both ends.

Careful reading and research is indeed the key!

Cheers!

Ah!, another bad attitude scientist with the personality of a constipated wort hog. :(

Since you seem to be talking to yourself, David. Please tell us how have you avoided suicide? Having a bad day? Or, is this just your normal nasty self?

Oh! I know the answer. You owe your life to the prescription medications you shrink has put you on. You know, the ones that keep you from killing people.

Ha, ... Hah, Ha! Go drop dead, and see if I care. :)
