dodgy drivers...

Kudos for getting that far. I cheated and skipped in - and they were STILL driving that slow. They're the kind of people that cause accidents, going that slowly and making other drivers impatient. I mean christ, I park quicker than that...

Not for you in Wales, surely, there were no sheep.

Heh, now that's more like it :)

Umm no, I drive like that most of the time.

But seriously, am I the only person subbing to this group who uses all of the available road?

Yeah well, I have done it a lot faster than that, yes it was in the Exploder and there was no one behind me for miles. It was lambing season so I really didn't want to pulp one of the poor wickle lambs.

You'll pleased to know that Duhg has already described it as "a typical 4x4 driver bombing around."

I think that was the FirthX4 Exploder running all of it's 4 litres flat out.

i.e. driving within the speed limit, you mean?

Does that mean like, cutting the corners and stuff where you can see? And running wide out of them etc etc? Plus on roads like that, that are usually bumpy at the edges, I tend to drive down the middle when there is nothing coming.

Cos I do that :-)

Jesus - I reckon I can run faster than that hah.

Yup, that's it.

I just wondered why it wasn't happening in either of the posted clips. They both must have been driving really slowly.

Not likely, remember the camera is a lot further off the ground than your arse-dragger mobile.

I would imagine it's because this attracts attention to ones self. It's not something I do, if I want to take the racing line I'll do it on a track day, where there's *absolutely* no chance of something unexpected emerging onto the road. People simply don't expect a car to be clipping the apex.

The vast majority of roads have a visibility limit way under the available grip so there's no rational reason to use both lanes other than just because you can.

LOL!

So thats what a CDI sounds like at 28,000rpm!

Tim..

Well you did go out of a village, past a national sign at about 5:10ish and as you went back out onto the moors you never accelerated, at all.

Much improved. I got halfway through this time.

Umm it's not a linear piece of film, notice the transition? There's no acceleration before the cut because I was doing a U-turn (which has been cut) and there's no acceleration in the next clip because I was travelling at a constant speed by then. In fact I don't go back out onto the moors, that clip is a return to the first scene.

And posting videos of apparently driving fast on the interweb doesn't. Didn't a guy get caught by the police doing that, making a promo video for the car he was selling showing a very "illegal" speedo shot. Happened somewhere in the world.
