That bloke you know who does wheel refurbs - could you find out from him if it's a sane idea to polish a wheel rim, then have the centres done powder coat silver and the rim done with powder coat lacquer?

Aye, but then you've got bare polished metal. What I'm wondering is if powdercoating something polished will look any good. AFAIK you shotblast stuff before you powder coat it, so polishing is going to take a bit of a hit...
