Fiesta - Gear knob and Pedals

Aug 01, 2004 1 Replies

Hey,

My old gear knob is a bit tatty so i bought a new one, whats the easiest way of getting my old one off and how does the new one go on (i assume it will come with instructions, i havent got it yet)

Also, i am interested in fitting some new pedals - i see HALFORDS sell them for like £15 upwards - how do these go on, they look like they bolt on - are they easy to take off if you dont like them?? any opinions/experiences?

Thanks.

Unscrews anticlockwise. Might have been superglued on by someone who used one of those Autolok things in the past.

Flashy gearknobs and pedal covers are widely referred to as Stick On Tat. They make you look like a kev and if your car got nicked and the insurance company wanted to get really pernickity they could spot them, decide that they count as a modification and thus made the car more desirable, and so more likely to be stolen, and refuse to pay up. OTOH, you could ring up your insurance company and see what they'd charge for the changes. I'd get a new knob and pedal rubbers from Ford TBH...
