Got a weird parcel delivery yesterday.

Got home from work, and there is a TNT card saying parcel left with Neighbour, and a Business Post card saying collect from depot.

Gives neighbour a knock, and they have my DBA discs. So what the bloody hell do Business Post have for me?

Only other thing I'm expecting is the Whiteline kit from the US, but that hasn't been shipped yet.

Goes to collect this morning, gets in the car, tears open the box, and inside are 5 (yes 5) sets of 4 Buddy club alloy deep reach tapered wheel nuts. Address on the label is mine. But that is only the business post shipping label. no billing info, no invoice, no shipping paperwork, and I haven't ordered anything from SPD Automotive before. They are the UK Buddy club, Toyo and Ultralite wheel distributors/importers though, which is very odd. I may in the past have enquired about wheels for the Celica, but I certainly haven't ordered from them.

What to do? I know legally I should contact them and ask for a post paid return shipping label, and give them chance to arrange for them to be picked up or posted back. Don't even know if they would fit the Celica and why would I need 5 sets anyway?

They're no use to you, send em back (at their expense naturally).

For people who have 5 stud wheels probably.

That's what i'd do but give them a time scale. Maybe 10 days then eBay them or something if no response.

Yes, thought of that 5 minutes after posting, people like me with 5 stud wheels.

5 packs of 4 nuts is the same a 4 sets of 5 nuts. Doh. Amazing how stupid a surprise makes you isn't it.

If after I contact them, they don't send a postage lable or whatever, or=20 arrange pickup, they go on Fleabay.

What they have send me is these=20

5 sets of 4 - either someone ordering for 5 or 6 stud wheels, or with a 4x4 wanting to put them on the spare on the carrier.

it dawned on me after a posted, 5x4nuts, is the same as 4x5 stud wheels, like what I got.

Weird thing is, there was no delivery note in the package.

I think it is an error. They've mixed you up with someone else.

Let them know and you might get a present for being honest.

Oh I'm going to ring Monday. Though how they could have mixed me up, when I've never ordered from them before I don't know.

They might have got my name from an email enquiry, but how would they know my address to send to, and where is the delivery paper work.

This is kind of spooking me.

legally you have to wait 6 months from the point of you telling them that you didnt order them before they are legally yours to sell on fleabay etc.

Cheers mate. Just what I needed. Definitive time length. Cool.

Once they are legally mine, thats probably what I'll do.

No you don't.

If you receive them directly in your name, but you didn't order them, then they are yours *immediately*.

There is no onus on you to either pay for them or, more importantly, return them.

The "6 month" thing was dispensed with many years ago, yet it still seems to be one of the best kept secrets out there...

Unsolicited goods.

Where I work people send stuff back all the time that they could have legally kept because someone picked the wrong item and there's no way to trace where it went to either and we're talking 100's of £ in some cases... ;-)
