Yeah, but the japs don't eat too many meatballs.

If I had gotten an Alfa 75 like I originally fancied, it would have been fine (they made a turbo one).

And it is just a different car. I still prefer the the way the T3 spools in the Saab to the way the CT26 Spools in the Celica, much more "Oh s*it, Oh S*it, Oh S*it", but of course the Celica is better off boost, starts spooling about the same, and revs through to 7.5k instead of 5.5k So smoother, but just as quick in the end.

Go and have a look at the suspension setup of a F1 car.

Right, done that. I see a total of ZERO components shared between the F1 car, Meatball's SAAB and my 620 TI.

Just because the general layout is shared with something that can be good, doesn't mean it IS good. It's all in the setup and cost...

The Saab was standard (apart from adjustable dampers that helped tame the tramp/spin later on) and had 20years wear and tear on components.

The wheelspin would happen when the turbo spooled up to full boost. Normal I reckon. Have you seen how an F1 car can spin it's tyres when the TC is off for demos? Yes they have a lot more power, but they also have a lot wider slicks, and they are warmed before the car is even driven. Just showed that the car had bumdles of power when making boost, just like it should. Not bad for a 20 year old 135k miles engine that has only had average maintenance, and no rebuild work. I reckon that lump has the same ammount of miles in it again, and will still be spinning the wheels.

You can't really compare an F1 car and big ol' Saab :)

Nah, not really, can you imagine an F1 engine reaching 135k between rebuilds, never mind the million mile turbo car that is due to finish it's mileometer in the US shortly? Oh and that hasn't had a rebuild, just a few headgaskets in life as part of regular servicing and maintenance.
