I dunno, I put a set on the back of a Capri 2.8i and they were OK. Much better than the s***ty goodyears they replaced, even when the Goodyears were new.

T1-S is one of the grippiest tyres I've had. Tend to go for more of an all-rounder though such as the Conti Premium Contact.

Do Yokohama still make an MR2 specific tyre?

I had cheap tyres on my astra MK2. About a week after fitting i went sideways through a tree, the worst part it was on a slight bend at 40mph. I did a 270! It snaked from side to side for no aparrent reason. Hence being cautious about tyres. - Might run these for a few weeks carefully!! then upgrade.

Never had a problem with my T1-S not quite as good as the Eagle F1 (rev2) they replaced but a hell of a lot better than the Yokohama A520s.

They're bound to be V or ZR rated at that size, so for a start, they can't be too s*it :) I always here Nangkang's are cheap but to be fair to them not that bad. No, they won't grip as well as a top end tyre for which you'll pay £200 a corner in 18", but they're not all that bad. Just get used to them before you resume driving like a nutter :)

Assuming they're V or Z rated, they can't be "crap" - just not as good as fancy rubber.

But when they're only costing half the price, then that's more than acceptable. I've got somewhere around 220bhp and 280Nm going through my FWD, and the Nankangs coped just fine (as did the Federals and Marshalls before them, and the Hankooks that I'm currently wearing).

Use them and see - you'll soon work out where the limits are. As long as you don't exceed these limits, then you won't die.

They are fine, almost all 18" after market wheels come with Nankang, they are a good ZR rated tyre and cheap, they are a pretty hard compound as well, so last a while.

Most After market places will offer you an upgrade, but stick with them, they are only 55 quid each to replace, and they are EU apporved ECE E4.

I like Federal's as well, they last for yonks on a 4wd, and handle fine.

I will be getting Nankang's on my new wheels in a week or so.

I put a set on the back of my TVR for a laugh.... They are not that bad.. ok I wont go above 100mph with them, even though they are supposed to be VR rated. However, when warm, they are very sticky, and I dont mind burning a few mm's off doing doughnuts / burnouts etc. I get a lot of stick from other sports car drivers, but they are cheap, reasonably good in the wet, and ok ish in the dry. (on a track though they were s*it... really couldnt put the power down hard enough through them, and they didnt hold the car laterally through the corners)

They're one of the only companies other than Pirelli who make tyres that fit a Cinquecento Sporting.

Nankangs perform better than the Pirellis on the Cinq.

no they stopped making the MR2 one now i think, can't remember who made the original tyres.

They seem ok in my brief experience of them on the Jag. Don't let go over suddenly and hang on alright.

Yep, that would be the GT4, even though it doesn't quite top that speed, it comes with Z's as standard.
