Paging the CarPC types

I don't know if they're any use, but I have just been given a box full of laptop screens. Mainly from old Apple kit, so I don't know if they're any use in any other way, but they're here and free to anyone who wants 'em.

Seems a shame to throw them in a skip.

Converting them to PC use needs a controller that costs more than the screens that the CarPC guys normally use.

I have seen people turn them into digital photo frames though. Don't know how.

Oh well.

I'll keep the ones that fit the machines we have here, the rest will have to go in landfill.

Really is a shame, there's some from relatively recent iBooks in there.

Talking of CarPC..... anyone want an iMac motherboard? - works fine, but the monitor is shot. Short of wedging a TFT in there, or recasing the iMac into another case, I don't know what to do with it. It would make a very nice alternative to the usual CarPC - more CarMac - especially as the iMac motherboard is essentially a laptop design.

Are they not worth Ebaying? I flogged a few old HP laptop TFT screens recently and they fetched £50 each.. :-)

just an idea..
